YOU ARE A KING.
Graduation speech by Paul Bamikole at Endtime Gospel Music Institute
Good day ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ
The director End Time Gospel music institute, the graduating student of this institution, and Alumni.
My name is Paul Bamikole the first.
To the graduating students of this lauded institution; you are a link in a long standing chain of something that has stood the test of time.
To those of us who came to minster, be blessed and celebrate, you are here as witnesses to the continuance of a man’s legacy sir lifted lead.
I grew up in the most remote village anyone can imagine, life for us there was to crack palm kernels, remove the nuts, put it in our pocket with garri already waiting there as we trod on to school on barefeet. That was to be the lunch or whatever in school.
We enjoyed it. We rarely saw cars, we had to go the Oba’s house to see movies anytime one was being shown. As I stand here today, I say it was the best of times ever. I was stubborn, agile, and very naïve.
There was no dream, to one day be a Doctor, Soldier, Musician, President, or whatever. The notion of changing the world was an illusion that never occurred.
It was sweet being a typical village boy with nothing to worry about except Grandma’s cane and a slap on the back anytime something went wrong.
I grew up free spirited under her guidance. All that changed when I was bundled out of the village overnight without my vote to what was the most beautiful sight I had seen ( Suleja)
There I learned my first lesson, with enlightenment comes change. Until one realises that one can be more one remains one.
Kings are not born, they are made. Revelation tells us ………… he hath made us kings
Any child among the children of the king can be crowned the king in his father’s stead. But first he must become a son, and sonship is the product of hard work.
No community in a sound state of mind will crown a child as king.
A heir as long as he is a child differs nothing from a slave, but he is put under tutors and governor until the time appointed to the father.
Are you a king? I believe you are, in the making.
There are two kinds of kings,
The one that loves justices and righteousness that causes people to rejoice, He is the symbol of hope and security of His people.
There is another king, full of reproach, there is no light in him, and he is the oppressor of the poor. When he shows up people mourn. He causes his father and mother to weep over him. A king perverted into a gangster. What kind of king will you be?
It is in the nature of every king to leave behind a legacy, to set a record, and to blaze a trail unblazed before. What do you want to be remembered and celebrated for?
Do you want to be celebrated as a builder of monuments or as a builder of men?
Monuments crumble but your works will live on in men.
Don’t let your history be repeated. Let the story end at your own backyard. Every sane king desires to extend his empire. Don’t be a local champion.
Be content but don’t be satisfied. Be curious but don’t desire vain glory. Stand confident but not arrogant. Walk with your head up, smile in the midst of your storms.
Don’t live in fear, leave that to the slaves.
Do what needs to be done; you are the commissar of your emerging kingdom. Think different and think real big.
Dare to execute your imagination.
Those who are failing are trying; they are the doers, world changers, and kings of every generation.
You don’t have forever to live but you can live forever if you will. Stop wasting your time.
Enter into the Agora of your own preparation.
Procrastination limits and destroys destiny. You only have about 40,000 days to live, that’s if you are going to live to a hundred (100).
Act with a sense of urgency. Time is running out. Some of us have spent the first quarter of our lifetime and we still don’t know what we are, who we are, and what we are here for.
Separate yourself from those who are not travelling your way.
You may be alone at first but that is how legends are made.
Glory is within your reach, you must stretch to reach to it.
Record your songs and dance like a lunatic, you are alive. Live while exhaling.
Go for gold, the world does not remember who came second or got sliver. strive for excellence, it is in you. The world is watching and waiting. You are surrounded by witnesses, don’t leave creation in mourning.
You are a king.
